Louie and I attended the 2014 US Jin Shin Jyutsu Organizer Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona from August 1-4. We visited and exchanged hands-on with organizers and faculty members from around the world. In 2015, Austin plan to host 3 classes:

  1. LTA (Living the Art) with Sarah Harper, April 9-11, 2015
  2. 5-Day Basic Seminar with Susan Schwartz, Fall 2015 (TBD)
  3. STC (Special Topic Class–Endocrine System & the Spine) with Anita Willoughby, Winter 2015 (TBD)

We gathered information about how other states develop their communities, both for student practitioners as well as family and friends. Mary’s Outreach Program has a new champion, Kelly Mount, and has invited all organizers to conduct fundraising for the program. One of our students in Austin was a recipient of this program and we want to reciprocate and support our own community. A new education program is being developed in Morristown, New Jersey to train and certify practitioners to work with patients within a hospital environment. Jin Shin Jyutsu is going to China next year for the first time with Wayne Hackett. A new edition of Texts 1 & 2 will be forthcoming within the next year. I have received approval to begin collecting JSJ stories and compile them into a book. We would like to begin with our local community in Austin. … etc. We have many more stories to share with you. “There is only one of us.” (still chewing…) We would like to thank past organizers and helpers in Austin, like Barbara White, Georgia Shaw, Jolie Muren, & Sumi Komo. We have much to learn from your experiences. Here is to a new beginning with the Austin Jin Shin Jyutsu Community! “We are here to simplify.” Mary B.

Dear Jin Shin Jyutsu Friends, Whew! What FUN! Where to begin? Thank you, Sam, for the greeting card class picture we all received in the mail. “There is only one of us”, says Wayne on the first day of class. I have been chewing on this statement ever since. I would like to thank each and every one of you for presenting yourselves and helping manifest this class. “The only present we can truly give one another is our presence.” Muriel Carlton (probably quoting Mary Burmeister) And I add: In whatever state, shape, color or form we are in. Thank you for simply showing up! “There is only ONE (7 – victory) of US (5 – human being).” (chew, chew, and chew) Your quiet presence during hands-on resounded in my heart. I was so touched, I dared not mar it by taking pictures, and for those of you who have shared classes with me, you can appreciate the gesture. I so cherish it that I choose to carry this vibration within me rather than without. (P.S. if anyone has pictures, please email me electronic copies at highest quality for the community collage.) Your desire and willingness to learn is contagious and I am very excited to begin many conversations, share many stories, and practice the touch of healing with each and every one of us as we continue our journey.
